Hi all,

thought I would use my first post to say hello and also introduce you to my pet project - RCFerret. Over the last few months i've been working on a little time-saving website dedicated towards taking some of the pain out of searching online RC stores for parts, parts that are in stock and indirectly and finding the best price.

The website at present allows you using one search, to search 21 of the leading UK stores (mainly RC heli stores, but a fair percentage of these serve multiple disciplines) and 9 US stores.

Hope you find it useful:

Cheers

Daz.

Thanks Darren, it works well, hopefully more suppliers will make data available to help the site grow.

Best of luck with the project, keep us updated with any developments.

Just a small update, i've added a few more of the popular stores, so you can now search on 25 Uk stores and 19 US stores.

hope this helps you to find some bargains

Thanks for the update Darren, works better than Google shopping, especially the way it filters.

Glad to see my local model shop listed in there too, very handy.

Hi all,

just thought i would provide an update to this post as a number of improvements have been made to hopefully make the site more useful.

- We now have a second new URL, the existing .co.uk still works, but have added a .com to reflect that this site is moving more international

www.rcferret.com

- More stores have been added, so we have support for 30 U.K. and 23 U.S. stores

- Significant improvements on the user interface and behind the scenes functionality, to provide hopefully useful features such as search suggestions related to what you type

- rapidly reaching the 1000 unique visitor searches, that is searches have eminated from nearly 1000 different I.P. addresses

- After a number of requests, i will be looking at adding RC Plane stores to the engine, so the next releases should see some movement towards these.

Thanks for reading

Darren

Hi all,

just a quick apology to those that PM'd me - only just noticed the flashing PM icon - bit embarressed as I consider myself a pretty experienced forum user generally

Regards

Thanks RCFerret, just saved £33 on a Blade SR X and with free delivery!

I've been using this site every time I buy online, it's great for searching for an LMS with stock.

Darren

RCFerret, my favourite RC price comparison site, doesn't seem to be working today.
I tried using two PC's, IE and Firefox and connecting to two different ISP's.

A temporary glitch perhaps?

It's working for me Allan.

Dave, there's an icon at the right hand side of each item that is a click through to the suppliers item.

Hi Allan,

sorry to hear about your access probs, like others above I've not had any problems using the site today. I've checked my internal logs, and cannot see anything untoward.

Hopefully it is a momentary glitch with your ISP

Regards

Darren

Thanks everyone, it's working for me too now thinking

I did wonder about ISP/DNS/Caching being an issue Darren, that's why I tried a different ISP connection with a different PC, but that gave me the same result (Virgin Media vs BT Internet)

Oh well, all is good now yeslaugh
