Now that Hobbyzone have gone, there is no convenient place to buy Swann Morton Blades, that I am a ware of.

I use primarily No 4 handles, with 26 blades.

I have previously bought these in foil covered packets of 5. I never gave a thought to what they were made of, assuming that all the blades were made from the same material.

Now that I am considering buying them on the Internet, I find that they can be purchased made from could be either Carbon Steel, or Stainless Steel.

Does any one know what we typically buy, their resistance to corrosion suggests SS, but are they?

I also note that you seem to be able to but them in boxes of 1,000, has any one bought them in this quantity

I buy mine in boxes of 1000 - If I recall, the last box I bought 6 months ago cost about £12 from the LMA static do at Gaydon.

Well, I am grateful to all of your responses.

Although I had not thought of mail order before, I will be buying from the Internet now, the big issue is which one,

My only disappointment is paying Hobbyzone prices, which from memory cost about £5 for 3 packets. Using my analytical skills, that's .... er,,,,,,,,,,,,, is.... about........£25 per 100, I was ripped off crying 2
