I’m known as Skippy or Skip to a lot of people over a long period of time.
I’m an ex Scout, ex Scout Leader (but maybe not for long!) an ex Windsurfer, an ex Dingy Sailer and an ex Model Flying Club News letter editor.
My career has included Tool Die and Pattern Maker, Machine designer, PLC programmer and currently Software Validation Engineer and Quality Auditor so I suppose I’m good with my hands and also an analyser.

This latest flying stint started in 2000 when I got my son interested and despite the long journey, joined Harlow and District MFC.
I’ve built several models including the inevitable WOT4 and a bi-plane as well as numerous RTF’s.

I now mostly fly solo out on Instow Beach when the tides out using depron and foam models up to 1300mm as well as some powered gliders although I do have a following of locals who I occasionally buddy lead on a foam Pitts S2.
I also fly gliders from Kipling Torr and do battle with Zagi’s when a group turns up.
My latest projects have been FlyGuy, Skyman, Starship Enterprise and a Santa’s Sliegh - visitors to the beach are fascinated.
We're now starting a relocation exercise up to the Bristol area to be nearer my son in preparation for granchildren...
