I first started flying with my dad in about 1970 with free flight models on Cannock Chase Staffs. Then moved onto RC models with one of the first dry cell Macgregor sets (blue handset with one button on it).
Our flying really came on when my dad bought a Futaba M Series 4 channel set which was the dogs compared to the Macgregor. It was really expensive back then, he couldnt afford two Futabas so we built up a 4 channel set from kit form from a company called Micron Radio Control from Nottingham (still have both sets today!!).
I now fly a mixture of models ranging from WW1 to present day sports models.
After a flying IC models for 40 years off and on I have now started to dabble with electric flying with a foamie Wot4
