I'm down in the heart of the West Country in God's real county (sorry Yorkies!) and new to model flying.
Although I haven't done much building through my adult life, I loved Lego and Meccano. I've also wanted to fly but never got around to it so now that I'm sliding nicely into retirement, model aircraft beckon.
I'm in no position to judge on i/c vs electric or balsa vs depron/foam etc so, being of a building 'bent', I'm starting in the traditional way with a balsa kit, the Ben Buckle Junior 60. After that, who knows.
Loving it so far and if I don't have any flying skills, who cares?
