More about me:

Flying since 2003, retired from Cheshire Police in 2005 due to MS. For while I went self employed with my own web consultancy & design business IPJnet Web Developments (www.ipjnet.co.uk) which included my  T shirt design business IPJ Aeroshirts (www.ipjaeroshirts.co.uk). I stopped the web consultancy in 2016 but the T shirts are still on the go.

I like to fly anything that looks something like a real aeroplane though I do have several that do not look at all scale-ish! For flying characteristics and reality I prefer IC power though I have to say EDF looks more & more interesting.

I have no preference for self built or ARTF aircraft as long as in either case the aircraft is properly built and airworthy. Having no involvement at all into the build of RTF aircraft tends to make me steer away from those though as they seem to have weaknesses built into them.

During 2010 I made my first venture into scale competitions and I intend to do some more of those in the future.

2011 was been another year of mileposts. I've found myself visiting a number of fly-ins which I have really enjoyed and also, as witnessed in various places on this forum, I have taken up slope soaring.

I am Member of the Mid Cheshire Model Flying Club, Leek and Moorland Model Gliding Association, South Cheshire Radio Control Society, BARCS and I am a BMFA qualified instructor.

My latest venture is into the use of 3D printing of tools, parts and perhaps even whole aircraft.
