Retired Veterinary Surgeon.
Crasher of c/l and loser of f/f models as a youngster, then boarding school, university, work, and marriage intervened.
Started building and flying r/c in the 70s, and have cocontinued on and off ever since.
I became a convert to the Dark Side when I built a Nigel Hawes 'P.R.A.T.' when he first published the plans in RCM&E. (I'm on my 4th by the way - and have also built his Fizzer and a Wizzer too). Quite a full hanger, won't say quite how many in case SWMBO reads this, but it's double figures! Some I built, some artf and the odd 2nd hand.
And then in 2018 I felt the urge to rejoin the Fellowship of the Oily Hand, amputated the big outrunner hanging on the front of my Wot4, replaced it with an Irvine 46 and never looked back. I have since acquired a few more i.c. motors some which fly, and some which are just clamped in a test stand and run up simply for the joy of it. Still flying electric too - and a bit of sloping off Long Mynd the odd day when the wind's right for Pole Cott.
