I am a late starter, first flew a model plane (Tutor 40) at the tender age of 50 - thirty five years after playing with my brother's Keil Kraft control line Hurricane & my Dad's glow engine - no success with either of them...
I am learning to fly with a Seagull Boomerang II (high wing electric), am putting a Black Horse Travel Air (low wing electric) together and have an un-built Maxford Antonov An-2 Christmas pressie (high & low wings combined electric - best of both worlds?) hibernating in her box.
I am disabled - paralysed right arm - so have a converted 3-axis joystick transmitter. My disability hasn't stopped me from doing anything, have a look through my photo albums. The ARTF planes are to cut my teeth on model building, flying, repairing before scratch building.
My day time job is as a mechanical design engineer working mainly on diesel or gas turbine powered electric generating sets (not flower arranging yet BEB - though I may try). I've been working with diesel engines for over 40 years...
I have moved back to West Yorkshire where the sun is always shining (above the clouds...)
