More about me:

A lifelong aeromodeller (with gaps for family, work, playing piano / Hammond in R'nB bands etc.). Spent a year ('77-'78) as crewman with British Airways Helicopters then Bristow Helicopters flying oil rig support  on the North Sea. About 1000hrs .Amazing time - happy days!

Full size gliding with Yorkshire Gliding Club at Sutton Bank then 12yrs with a PPL - now lapsed.

Moved over here to the Charente Maritime in France 9 years ago, and after much renovation work am now firmly 'back in the saddle' with building & flying. Am a member of the St Jean D'Angely club - we have a great facilty with a large, hard surface surrounded by acres of cut grass and can fly any time, any day. We also have the use of a Gymnasium for indoor flying for a few days over the winter months. Calm evenings I fly the my Parkzone Ultra Micro Cub and T28 in the garden.

The stable includes a 1/4 scale BUSA Piper Cub, 1/4 scale Mew Gull, Ripmax Extreme (for the hooligan days!), Peter Millers 'Chantilly Lace' (a lovely model - my 2nd) and have just finished a Mick Reeves 1/4 scale Fournier RF4D - it awaits it's maiden (as of 15/4/14). All glow. (Fournier now flown - really nice model)

Am looking forward to the 'Chip Shop' buildalong later in the year.

Which part of building a new traditional balsa aeroplane do you enjoy the most?
Q: Which part of building a new traditional balsa aeroplane do you enjoy the most?

 Research & choosing the model
 Building the fuselage
Installing the engine and radio systems
 Building the flying surfaces
 Covering/painting/finishing
 All of it!
None of it. I'd rather someone else did it!
