Strengths:
Looks, flys well* (*see later), Ingenious assembly for a bipe e. g struts and U/C retention method. . .
Weaknesses:
The foam this model is made from seems less durable and 'strong' than usual. The cellular foam seems less dense than other types and the cells easily 'crack' apart with little effort. Control linkages and clevises. .
Overall:
Our weather hasn't been too kind this year but on the occasions we have had little or no wind, I've ventured out with 'The Red Baron'. To date I've logged 25 flights BUT the 26th ended in an abrupt end! I gave the model its pre-flight DI and nothing obvious appeared amiss. After powering up all controls were checked and seemed to be operating 'smoothly'. Taxi out, use plenty of up elevator to stop it tipping onto its nose, lined up and took off.
