THIS IS 6K NICE RADIO BUT WHY IS TRAINER SWITCH ON RIGHT
Strengths: 6K is replacement for the 6J and now has 8 channels. Very good value and nicely made.
Weaknesses: Usual Futaba programming restrictions on lower end radios. Big negative for a beginner radio is making the non-assignable buddy switch on the top right of the transmitter rather than the usual top left, will upset many instructors.
Overall: Good value set, but check if you are a beginner if your instructor is OK with trainer switch on righthand side.

GREAT VALUE, AND VERY EASY TO USE
Strengths: Intuitive menus. Great feel in the hands. A lot of features for a six channel radio. Proportional flaps channel via rotary switch.
Weaknesses: No ability to copy settings from one model memory to another.
Overall: I love it. Some say that having to buy rechargeable batteries separately is a negative, but I'm perfectly happy with dry cells: they last 100 flights, and in many ways are more convenient than having to charge the Tx battery every day.

Q: Which part of building a new traditional balsa aeroplane do you enjoy the most?

 Research & choosing the model
 Building the fuselage
Installing the engine and radio systems
 Building the flying surfaces
 Covering/painting/finishing
 All of it!
None of it. I'd rather someone else did it!
