The Spitfire. What more can be said about this legend that hasn't already been said a thousand times before? Regarded by many as the quintessential fighter aircraft of the Second World War, it's also widely recognised for its truly beautiful design, something that's not ordinarily associated with a weapon of war. Likewise, of course, its appeal in the aeromodelling world is without equal. I'm sure model shop owners throughout the world could tell countless stories of wannabe model flyers patronising their shop with the sole intent of buying a Spitfire and taking up model flying.

Editors note - The Mini ShowTime 4D is becoming hard to find in the shops but we have published this review as Chris' well written account should help those building and flying similar models. Essentially, this little gem is a scaled down version of the Hangar 9 ShowTime 50 for the park-flyer market. It’s a colourful and neat design that looks just as good as it’s bigger brother, which is something we’ve come to expect from the popular Hanger 9/E-flite range of products. Some of the key features that help elevate this aircraft above some of its closest rivals are the removable Side-Force-Generators (or simply SFGs), the fantastic build and finish quality and of course its flight characteristics, which I will explain in more detail later.

JR DSX-12 2. 4GHz The very mention of computer radios is often enough to send the uninitiated running for the shadows. If, until now, you've shied away from these marvels of modern technology then settle into a comfy chair and I'll ease you through an introduction, explaining some of the intimidating features and, hopefully, simplifying the programming of your computer transmitter. A lot of people are initially put off by computer radios, but with so many examples available it's actually quite easy to find the right one to suit your needs, even if those needs arent anywhere near that of a competitor in the Tournament of Champions or the Jet World Masters.
