April 2025

by

Editor Kevin Crozier talks us through what the expect in the new April edition of RCM&E.

The April 2025 issue of RCM&E begins with a review of XFly-Models’ new Supermarine Spitfire kit in D-Day markings, then it’s over to Mike Roach who upscales the Keil Kraft Avro 707 plan to suit 50 mm EDF power.

Next, the editor looks at a neat little electric pylon racer, the JPS-3 from J. Perkins. Chris Williams is the first of this month’s columnists and in ‘Scale Gliding’ he shows how to attach the canopy of a scale glider to its frame.

In ‘Model Magic’, Stuart Mackay puts together Hangar 9’s big kit for a Pitts Special biplane. This month’s pull-out Pro-Plan is by Mike Freeman, whose 1M span EDF flying wing, ‘St8us’ is built entirely from foamboard and brown paper.

‘One Man & His Shed’ finds Dave Goodenough wearing a new T-shirt before embarking on another selection of workshop-based advice and guidance. Continuing from the last issue, in ‘Drawing A Plan – Part 2’, Lindsay Todd describes his final steps in drawing a plan for a semi-scale aircraft before our ‘Insider’ columnist John Stennard offers more indoor flying topics, starting with a tri-motor helicopter.

In ‘Modelling the Barling Beast’ Jon Harper details his scratch build of a 72” model of the six engine ‘Barling Bomber’, then it’s over to Jeff Barringer for our final feature as he reports from the other side of the world after building a rather quick slope soarer, the Angelwings SOAS.
