Mass Build 2014

The Mini Tyro is just one of the choices.

Welcome to Mass Build 2014 – the annual group building project here at Modelflying.co.uk.

The Mass Build idea started in 2011 with a single model theme, 2012 used vintage designs as subject matter and 2013 has been the year of the Tucano.

Forum users have decided on a different route for 2014 with a choice of five models that cater for all tastes.

But just what is the Mass Build? Well, it's where forum members vote on a model that everyone builds and (hopefully) records in a build blog on the forum.

This means it's a great way to share ideas and set-ups while those who've always wanted to try traditional building themselves can find help and ask questions along the way. For those who can make it, Mass Builders meet up once a year at the RCM&E / Greenacres Club Fly-in near Walsall, West Midlands.

Ok, here are the choices voted for 2014:

Barnstormer (all variants) – the classic David Boddington parasol wing sportster.
Dawn Flyer – Lindsay Todd's golden era style cruiser, the pull-out plan with RCM&E July 2013.
Tinker / Tyro (all variants) – another Boddo classic.
Mini Jazz – Malcolm Corbin's superb pocket aerobat
Pushy Cat – a popular twin-boom rocket ship

It's started already to check out the forum area where you'll find general chat, individual model hangouts and specific build threads too – get building and join in the fun!
