Nuremburg 2009


Our full 10-page report from Nuremburg features in the new April 2009 issue of RCM&E (on sale March 13) but just to whet you appetite here’s a supplementary photo report from the vast trade show in Germany.

Nuremburg is where the industry meets to showcase new releases for the forthcoming year. Every major distributor/manufacturer is there so sit back and see if anything takes your fancy!

It’s a vast campus, this is just one small corner and it would probably take several days just to see all the exhibitors.



I liked Graupner’s new unassuming 62″ span Cherokee, a .55 two-stroke is required.


  ‘Epic Victory’ is Graupner’s new jet. With a 110″ span, it’s for a G80-G160 powerplant.

Graupner now distribute Tangent gliders so naturally they had many of the companies beautiful birds on show.


Heli flyers are happy flyers……..


This colourful new Mirage joins J.Perkins’ growing EDF jet range. 



Multiplex UK Manager, Gordon Upton, demonstrates the ‘foldability’ of the new Xeno flying wing. A clip-on power pod means the model can be flown just about anywhere. 



This EPP flying boat is from German company Borjet. Not sure if there’s a UK distributor though.  


  If the existing SebArt Pitts is too big for you then this new ’50’ size version may suit. Superb quality as we’ve come to expect from the company.  



Think of a bigger Fox, purpose made for radio, and you’re getting close to Multiplex’s new Merlin. Engineering-wise, the model borrows heavily from the Blizzard.  


  This new Kyosho Minium Edge in this Red Bull scheme looks very attractive. 


Kyosho don’t seem to do brochures so you’ll have to make up your own caption for this attractive seaplane gracing their stand, about 60″ span I’d say.  


This Tornado is a new addition to Kyosho’s EDF range, looks like wings will swing. 


You can never accuse VMAR of a lack of imagination where their subject matter is concerned, this Dornier Do 335 is a case in point. 


E-flite’s new Ryan PT is control-line or R/C convertable. 


They’re an ambitious bunch Silverlit. This tilt-rotor was just a static prototype but we’re told the working model is on the way.


This chopper is Silverlit’s first purpose made outdoor heli. We’re told the rotor head design is unique and improves stability. 


This attractive new 85″ span Chipmunk from Black Horse is for 45cc petrol engines.

  Silverlit’s new Atom helicopter will fit inside the transmitter case.

This is Hangar 9’s new RV8 – a nice change to the scale aerobat norm.

  This sweet little Nieuport 17 joins the SE5 in E-flite’s park-fly bipe range.
